Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for achieving production plans within set parameters. 
  • Responsible for the condition of the working area, plant and machinery and to ensure implementation of maintenance and/ or hygiene plans for the same.
  • To ensure that the team maintains a positive approach to health, safety and environmental legislative responsibilities. 
  • Manage and develop the team to maximise each individuals’ contribution to the overall effectiveness of the team. This will include organising team and individual training programmes and focussing on team flexibility and capability. 
  • Responsible for quality conformance in production, involving day to day troubleshooting, problem solving, process optimisation, projects and trials. 
  • Facilitation of continuous improvement activities to push for future results beyond where we are today. 
  • Driving and achievement of team key performance indicators and areas of concentration. 
  • People Management, which includes administration tasks, such as holiday booking, absence management, performance management, coaching and 1-2-1s.

Direct Reports:

Up to 30 employees and responsible for contractors as well.

Knowledge:

  • Educated to at least GCSE level, however, a degree in Biochemistry, Food Science, Engineering or Diploma in Brewing/Diploma in Packaging (inc working towards DIB/DIP) would be preferable. 
  • Knowledge of key standards in Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental would be advantageous.

Experience:

  • Concrete experience in continuous improvement techniques.
  • Experience in the Brewing/Packaging Industry or similar. Previous experience of working as a front line manager would be desirable.
  • This role is requires currently a shift based role and requires a high degree of flexibility with regard to working hours and shift cover.
